Celebrate National Girl Scout Cookie Weekend – Get the New Raspberry Rally Cookie from a Local Troop

It’s Girl Scout cookie time again and the Girl Scouts of the USA have introduced a new flavor to their annual lineup of treats.[0] The Raspberry Rally is an online-exclusive flavor that resembles the fan-favorite Thin Mints with a chocolate shell and cream center, but instead of a mint filling, it has a raspberry filling.[1] The Raspberry Rally cookie made its debut on Feb. 27 and within hours, stocks of the highly anticipated treat sold out for troops across the country.[2]

Girl Scouts of the USA confirmed the cookies were sold out online and have been “extremely popular.”[3] The organization urged customers to buy products directly from the organization rather than other sources.[2] However, due to the high demand, some unscrupulous resellers have taken advantage and have listed the cookie on eBay for around $30 a box, well above the Girl Scouts' price of about $5 or $6 per box. At the time of publication, the prices of Raspberry Rally cookie boxes on eBay were ranging from $100 to even $199.97, despite the fact that Girl Scouts label the cookie packaging as “not for resale.”.[4]

The Girl Scout Cookie program is the largest girl-led entrepreneurial program in the world and all proceeds stay local benefitting Badgerland Girl Scouts.[5] Every single penny of the net earnings from each box is kept within the local area.[6] Badgerland Council uses the money earned from cookie sales to give Girl Scouts meaningful experiences, while individual troops can decide how to spend their profits on activities such as service projects and campouts.[6]

This Friday, March 3-5, Girl Scouts of the Northwestern Great Lakes will be celebrating “National Girl Scout Cookie Weekend” with booths appearing all around.[7] Cookies will be most abundant during the weekend.[8] At, customers can enter their zip code to purchase cookies from a local Girl Scout troop and have them shipped directly.[6] Individuals who are unfamiliar with Girl Scouts can use the Girl Scout Cookie Finder or get the application for free on iOS and Android phones to discover a cookie stand close to them, buy from a nearby troop for direct delivery, or donate Girl Scout Cookies to local organizations.[9]

Girl Scouts are utilizing the Digital Cookie® platform to gain valuable insight into sales, allowing them to develop real-world business acumen such as financial management, goal setting, and customer service.[10] Girl Scouts of the USA have reminded customers that each purchase supports their local Girl Scouts and to purchase cookies directly from the organization rather than resellers.[11]
